OnSite NYC

Site Performance Engineered for Urban Landscapes

OnSite NYC is a performance series produced by The Equus Projects that features site-specific created works for urban Landscapes.

In 2014, OnSite NYC began engaging emerging choreographers to create site projects mentored by Equus Projects Artistic Director JoAnna Mendl Shaw. Explorations and creation time range from 2- 6 weeks. OnSite has produced several works created by David Norswothy, the most recent the June 2016 presenting of Is This Dance ?, a research and performance event co-presented with Harlem Arts Alliance at the Raw Space.

OnSite NYC projects have been generously funded in part by the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council since 2012.

OnSite NYC has created works for Union Square, Anita’s Alley,  Tudor City Greens, Dag Hammarskjold Plaza, Ligne Roset / SoHo, Garden Six B, an ambient work for Wall Street and two iterations of Elephant Shenanigans, a traveling installation for four dancers and inflatable elephant performed in 4-hour segments in Chelsea, Greenwich Village, Riverside Park, Central Park and throughout the Upper West Side.
